The loan agent is as important if not more important than the bank your choose. Although the bank offers the interest rates and has the systems in place to process the loans its the loan agent who is the person who either has the skills and work ethic to prepare your credit application in a way and on time for the underwriter will approve it or they don't. Even if your a strong buyer a poor loan agent can still mess things up and create headaches. Buying a home can be stressful enough without the loan agent creating more problems. With today's technology you can fax or email this information to the loan agent you've chosen. But, if your not using a loan agent that's recommended, which is risky, Mark recommends meeting them in person and be on the alert if they not only seem knowledgable and professional; although the best loan agents are almost always very busy. This could imply a bit of hecticness. Don't take this kind of risk, always use someone who is recommended. |
